ELEMENTARY COURSES

Italian for Travelers — Postcards From Italy      $260

You don’t need a passport to immerse yourself in Italian life. This interactive course creates real-life Italian situations to quickly build your conversation skills. Learn words and expressions that will help you make the most of your next trip to Italy.

Meets: 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18 and 2/25. (7 Weeks) – Materials provided.

Italiano 1 – Also a Great Class for Travelers!      $290

This course is for beginners with no knowledge of Italian. After completing this course, students will be able to speak in present tense and read and write basic sentences.

Italiano 2      $290

Students will build upon Italiano 1 and learn more vocabulary and grammar so they will be able to speak more about basic everyday situations. Students will also learn past perfect and will practice it in conversation.

Ripasso Elementare e Conversazione      $290

In this course you will reinforce some of the more challenging aspects presented in Italiano 1-2. Doing so will help you use these principals in conversation, strengthening your speaking skills.

Italiano 3      $290

Continuing on the previous courses (Italiano 1-2 and Ripasso Elementare), students will be increasing their proficiency and will be able to speak about basic situations using present, past, perfect, imperfect and future tenses.

INTERMEDIATE COURSES

Intermedio 1      $290

Coming after Italiano 3, this course will enable students to gain a deeper understanding of grammar concepts. Students will read short stories and engage in conversation.

Intermedio 2      $290

Following Intermedio 1, this course will continue building on grammar concepts. At the same time, students will improve their listening, comprehension and speaking skills.

Ripasso Grammatica e Conversazione      $290

Following Intermedio 1, this course will continue building on grammar concepts. At the same time, students will improve their listening, comprehension and speaking skills.

Following Intermedio 2, this course will continue building on grammar concepts. At the same time, students will improve their listening, comprehension and speaking skills.

Ripasso Intermedio e Conversazione      $290

Following Intermedio 4, this course allows students to practice more speaking and review some grammar before moving to the Advanced level.

The supplemental/additional practice class for students that are currently enrolled in Ripasso Intermedio or at a more advanced level who want to review skills and get extra practice. In this course we will use audio, video, reading, conversation, oral presentations and role play to practice and reinforce our skills. Oral conversation will be the main focus of these 8 weeks.

* – Must be enrolled in the above main class (or an equivalent) to join the Supplemental/Additional Practice class.

For students with conversational ability who want to reinforce their understanding of Italian grammar, practice reading and speaking and expand their vocabulary. With this course will we build upon Avanzato 1 adding in the more challenging concepts. Students will be encouraged to discuss literature, articles, Italian culture, etc.
 

The supplemental/additional practice class for students that are currently enrolled in Avanzato 2 or at a more advanced level who want to review skills and get extra practice. In this course we will use audio, video, reading, conversation, oral presentations and role play to practice and reinforce our skills. Oral conversation will be the main focus of these 8 weeks.

Requires Avanzato 5 or equivalent. This course follows the series based on the Da Capo textbook. With this course will we build upon Avanzato adding in the more challenging concepts. You will review Intermediate — level speaking skills through regular practice and oral presentations. If needed, you may also spend class time reviewing some grammatical principles. Instructors make use of multimedia to teach and reinforce lessons. Doing so will make each class lively, varied, and engaging.

CINE CLUB & BOOK CLUB

Cine Club      $140

Intermediate/Advanced level – Requires Avanzato 5.

Enhance conversation, vocabulary, and listening skills, discussing films from a variety of genres. Our Cine Club will deepen your understanding of the culture, history and humor of the Italian people and language. Thought-provoking discussions led by native-Italian, university-trained teachers in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Class meets are on Thursdays – 1/20, 2/3, 2/17 and 3/3.

In this Book Club / Course, we will read the book “La Fabbrica delle Stelle” by Gaetano Savatteri.
Conversation and discussion of the book, along with building vocabulary will be the focus of these four weeks.

Class meets are on Tuesdays – 1/18, 2/1, 2/15 and 3/1.
