You don’t need a passport to immerse yourself in Italian life. This interactive course creates real-life Italian situations to quickly build your conversation skills. Learn words and expressions that will help you make the most of your next trip to Italy.
Meets: 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23 and 4/30.
Students will build upon Italiano 1 and learn more vocabulary and grammar so they will be able to speak more about basic everyday situations. Students will also be using past tense. This course approximately covers chapters four through six in the Prego, 7th edition textbook.

Following Intermedio 1, this course will continue building on grammar concepts. At the same time, students will improve their listening, comprehension and speaking skills. This course approximately covers chapters twelve through fourteen in the Prego, 7th edition textbook.

The supplemental/additional practice class for students that are currently enrolled in Intermedio 2 or at a more advanced level who want to review skills and get extra practice. In this course we will use audio, video, reading, conversation, oral presentations and role play to practice and reinforce our skills. Oral conversation will be the main focus of these 8 weeks.

This series of courses come after completion of Intermedio 1-4 (or equivalent). For students with conversational ability who want to reinforce their understanding of Italian grammar, practice reading and speaking and expand their vocabulary. This course will start with some simple grammar concepts — things you have already encountered previously — but this will be a more thorough, robust approach. This is the beginning of the journey to becoming advanced. Students will be encouraged to discuss literature, articles, Italian culture, etc. The course is based on the Da Capo textbook, 7th edition, and covers approximately four chapters.

Instructors make use of multimedia to teach and reinforce lessons. Doing so will make each class lively, varied, and engaging.

Intermediate/Advanced level – Requires Avanzato 5.
In this Book Club / Course, we will read the book “Gli sdraiati” by Michele Serra.
Conversation and discussion of the book, along with building vocabulary will be the focus of these four weeks.
Class meets are on Tuesdays – 3/23, 4/6, 4/20 and 5/4.
